LEO Stands with Big Five Tanzania to Empower Communities

Tanzania is a country of breathtaking landscapes—from the towering peak of Mount Kilimanjaro to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti. But beyond its natural beauty, Tanzania faces serious challenges. Rapid population growth has outpaced economic development, placing immense pressure on infrastructure, food supplies, healthcare systems, and access to clean water.

That’s where Big Five Tanzania steps in. Founded in 2018, this nonprofit organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Tanzanians by investing in five essential areas:

• Education – Providing scholarships and school support for underserved youth

• Entrepreneurship – Offering microgrants and mentorship to small business owners

• Healthcare – Expanding access to medical care and health education

• Food Sustainability – Supporting farming initiatives and nutrition programs

• Clean Water – Building infrastructure for safe, reliable water sources

Their mission is simple but powerful: invest in people, one life at a time.

With volunteers in both the United States and Tanzania, Big Five Tanzania works collaboratively to select impactful investments and put donations to work for immediate effect and enduring impact.

At LEO, we believe sustainability isn’t just about protecting the planet—it’s about empowering people. That’s why we were proud to serve as a sponsor of Big Five Tanzania’s recent fundraising event in Wisconsin: Swing Big for Tanzania, a community baseball game with a purpose.

The event was an afternoon of fun, connection, and shared commitment. Volunteers, donors, and fellow sponsor companies came together to enjoy the game, celebrate the mission, and raise awareness for the transformative work happening in Tanzania. From heartfelt stories to great moments on and off the field, the day was a celebration of hope, resilience, and global solidarity.
